Bybit is where I do most of my derivatives trading. The reason is unglamorous: the matching engine stays up when the market moves violently, which is exactly when a frozen exchange costs you the most.
The warning comes before the link
Bybit’s main draw is leverage, and I want to be direct about this because I watch it happen in my community every cycle. Most people who use high leverage lose their entire account. Not some. Most. The exchange is not the problem, the position size is.
If you are going to trade derivatives at all:
- Decide the rupee amount you are willing to lose on a trade before you open it
- Size the position from that number, not from how confident you feel
- Use a stop, and do not move it because the trade went against you
- Treat 20x as a professional’s tool, not a beginner’s shortcut
Anyone who shows you leverage without showing you liquidation is selling something.
Funding rates
Perpetual contracts charge funding every few hours, paid between longs and shorts. Hold a leveraged position for three weeks in a strongly one-sided market and funding alone can cost more than the move you were waiting for. It is the most commonly ignored cost in crypto trading.
What it is good for
Spot buying works perfectly well here too, and the interface is calmer than Binance’s. If you want one account that does both without overwhelming you, this is a reasonable choice.
