Regional Ambassador Club, Kuala Lumpur, 2018
Recognised by the Regional Ambassador Club, Kuala Lumpur, in 2018, seven years before the audience existed.
An award from the Regional Ambassador Club, Kuala Lumpur, in 2018.
This is the oldest entry on the page by seven years, and it is the one I would ask anyone assessing this work to look at hardest.
2018 was the bottom of a brutal bear market. Bitcoin had fallen roughly 70% from its December 2017 high, the people who had arrived at the top had mostly left, and there was no audience in India to build on and very little money in explaining any of this. Every other award here comes from a period when crypto was worth being seen near.
I was doing the same work then that I am doing now, for a fraction of the people. That is the whole case for taking the rest of this page seriously: not that the recognition arrived, but that it started arriving before there was any obvious reason to be here.
Send the photograph from the day and it goes on this page. The pennant in it names the organisation, which is what makes a 2018 claim checkable eight years later.
