WeeX sign-up link and VIP code

A futures exchange with a large insurance fund. Named in India's September 2026 takedown notices, so it comes with a geography warning.

Not for readers in India

WeeX is named in FIU-IND's notices of 8 September 2026, issued under Section 13 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act with a request that the apps and URLs be blocked. Checked 6 November 2026.

Use CoinDCX or Binance instead. Both are registered with FIU-IND.

What's good

  • Large published insurance fund, which matters more on a futures venue than anywhere else
  • Deep perpetual coverage on altcoins that bigger exchanges list late or not at all
  • 0.1% spot fees, in line with the global exchanges rather than the Indian ones
  • Fast onboarding, with a low barrier before you can place a first trade

What isn't

  • Named in FIU-IND's 8 September 2026 non-compliance notices, so it should not be your choice from India
  • Not registered with FIU-IND, which means no Indian regulatory recourse if something goes wrong
  • Thinner spot liquidity than Binance or Bitget on most pairs
  • Less brand history than the exchanges it competes with, so there is less public record to judge it by

WeeX is a futures-first exchange. If you are buying Bitcoin to hold, this is the wrong page and almost certainly the wrong platform.

Read this first if you are in India

On 8 September 2026 FIU-IND issued non-compliance notices under Section 13 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to fifteen offshore platforms, and WeeX was one of them. The notices came with a request that the apps and URLs be blocked.

That is not the same as owning crypto being illegal, which it is not. But it does mean this platform is operating outside the Indian compliance framework, that access may stop working without warning, and that if a dispute arises you have no Indian regulator to take it to.

If you are reading this from India, use CoinDCX or Binance instead. Both are registered with FIU-IND. I would rather lose the referral than send you somewhere your own regulator has asked to have blocked.

The rest of this page is written for readers outside India, where WeeX operates normally.

What the insurance fund is actually for

WeeX publishes a large insurance fund, and that number is the main reason it is on this list at all. Here is what it does.

On a futures exchange, when a position is liquidated the exchange closes it at the liquidation price. In a fast move there may be no buyer at that price, so the position closes worse than the liquidation price and the shortfall has to come from somewhere. On a well-funded exchange it comes from the insurance fund. On a poorly funded one it comes from auto-deleveraging, which means profitable traders on the other side get their positions force-closed to balance the books.

So a large insurance fund is not a marketing number. It is the difference between your winning trade being left alone and your winning trade being closed for you during the exact move you were right about. On a venue where you intend to use leverage, it is one of the few published figures worth comparing.

Where it falls short

Spot liquidity is thinner than the majors. For small orders you will not notice. For large ones you will fill worse than the screen price, and that cost is easy to underestimate because it does not appear as a fee.

There is also less public history here than with Binance or Bitget. Fewer years, fewer incidents handled in public, less of a record to judge. That is not an accusation, it is an absence of evidence, and on an exchange holding your money an absence of evidence is itself worth pricing in.

How I would size it

Keep what you are actively trading, and nothing else. That is my rule everywhere, and it tightens on a smaller exchange with no regulatory backstop in your jurisdiction. Withdraw profits rather than letting a balance accumulate because withdrawing feels like admin.

The VIP code uyfv is mine and I earn a share of the fees you pay. It costs you nothing extra and the discount is real.

I am not going to pretend this is a general recommendation. It is a futures venue with a good insurance fund and a real regulatory problem in one large market. If you are outside that market and you trade perpetuals, it is worth a look. If you are inside it, use CoinDCX.
